circa 1845, with polished straight 23in. spear-point double edged blade, the right hand face etched 'BERKSHIRE CONSTABULARY' around a Queens Crown, plain brass 'D' shaped knuckle-bow marked '3' with locking catch for scabbard and turned down quillion, sharkskin covered grip (wire binding absent) and stepped pommel, complete with its brass-mounted leather scabbard stamped 'S5' and leather frog marked on the reverse 'B.C. 34'
